A big part of the Whistler experience is après - and the late night fun at the nightclubs. Whistler is known for it. Most establishments are just minutes from the ski lifts and all of them are contained within the pedestrian-only Village. Everything is within walking distance.
Aprés comes from the French word meaning "after" and marks the social occasion after skiing when people come together for drinks, food and fun.
Walk through the Village after the lifts close (from 3 PM onwards) and many bars and restaurants will be buzzing with excitement - especially in the spring. Some people consider aprés the best part of a ski vacation.
Apparently Whistler is the only ski resort with go-go dancers (at Tommy Africa's nightclub). Regardless, Whistler's nighclubs are well known for providing a good time with popular music.
When in town checkout a copy of The Pique, Whistler's local newsmagazine for up-to-date entertainment listings.
WAVE - Whistler's public transit runs from 5:30 AM to 3 AM every day. And for the true night owls there are taxis and the free Village Shuttle to get you back home.
